i have a 1986 k20 with the 14 bolt SF with 4.10 ratio and the factory G80 gov lock. Ive done a complete rebuild of this truck frames been sand blasted new motor etc, well i finally have got it running and noticed that in my gravel driveway it only spins one wheel, it also only spun one wheel in the mud but i thought that was bc the brakes were all messed up b4 i put new ones on. Needless to say i pulled the cover drained the coffee looking gear oil for an inspection. The housing has a magnet that i found after scraping abbout 3/4 of an inch of metal shavings and friction material off it. So im assuming the differential frictions are worn out. My question is how hard are these to rebuild i have messed with several 10 bolts before in my lifetime but never any 14 bolt stuff.
