    High Amp Alternator?

Powermaster alternators are made in the USA. I'm running one in my 1975 C20 with a vintage air a/c system and ultra halogen sylvania headlights....no problems.

Quadrajet from hell will not give me peace

I had this exact problem with my qjet. I had used a 1/4x20 nut on top of the air cleaner stud, just above where it screwed into the top of the carburetor, to secure the stud. The sides of the nut would catch on the secondary cam every so often, and the fix was to just leave the nut off. I was...

Vapor lock with deadhead regulator on heat soaked motor

Hi Dutch! Thanks for your reply! The picture of my engine compartment is kinda old, in the sense that the fuel routing has changed. The fuel line to the carb, goes through a filter first, then into a dead head regulator (non-by-pass type) then on to the carburetor...A Jet performance, 850 cfm...

Vapor lock with deadhead regulator on heat soaked motor

I have a 3 port mechanical fuel pump on my 406 chevy small block. If I change to a 2 port pump, and change my regulator to a by-pass style, then run the by-pass line from the new regulator back to the third vent return line that goes back to the tank, will this fix my vapor lock problem...

    Sbc305 to BBC454

Hello! I wanted to remind you to research the rest of the driveline, to see if it's up to the extra torque. CBB's came from the factory with TH400's. Mine is a 1975 c-20. I owned a 68 chevelle and turned it into a drag race car. The engine was an LS-6 454. Beefed engine, tranny, rearend, factory...

1975 dual saddle tank fuel switching box o- ring size

Hello! I'm looking for someone who can tell me the correct size o-rings, to restore the fuel transfer box's missing ones. 1976 C-20 upgrading a/c and alternator

Soooo, the wire that powers the fan's "high speed" is #10 gauge. I have located wire large enough to keep the alternator happy...#6. The factory "charge wire" definitely emanates from the firewall terminal block. That same wire goes to the starter, but the wire is tee'ed off inside the wire loom...

    1976 C-20 upgrading a/c and alternator

Hi; thanks for the replies! My c-20 is a 1975, and the original a/c condenser was demo'ed out long ago. I don't know if 75's ever had an aux fan. The truck originally had a 454, but now sports a hi-perf. small block 400, punched twenty, with aluminum 68cc heads, and a comp cams valve train...

    1976 C-20 upgrading a/c and alternator

Hello HotRodPC! the aux fan is most likely going to be aftermarket. My close friend of a few decades, Is the owner/operator of "Sin City Hotrods" here in Las Vegas. He's giving me several parts and pieces, to complete the installation. I'm retired, and am a survivor of three summers here, but...

    1976 C-20 upgrading a/c and alternator

Hello group! Here's my questions.... Can I re-purpose the factory a/c fan's high speed "orange" wire's size to increase the wire size to use as a new charge wire for the new "powermaster" 140amp alternator? as scrap, after demo'ing out the old wires, I need to know if it's gauge is big enough...

My stock amp gauge works, but SUCKS!

Hello group! here's my "situation" I have a C-20 1975 Chevy truck. The amp gauge is totally useless! The gauge BARELY moves at all. After removal, I tested the gauge and contacts (dash pin clips) and everything checks out as being good. I have searched the forum here, with some good info...case...

    Which rotors to buy??

I wanted to buy quality, and if possible, American made. I scored big with a set for my C-20 8 lug truck from "Brake Performance" out of Chatsworth Ca. Not only were they made "in house", they were a bolt on. their quality is far superior to most china made junk that's SOOO cheap! and...
