what would it cost a shop to diag it for you? where i am, it's 45 bucks to know for sure. -

vent valve is at right rear corner of car, near the rear axle. take it off and apply power and ground to it and see if it clicks. Then have someone who smokes blow smoke through it to see if it leaks. I think they're around 30 bucks.- dee123

on the newer trucks, if you take out the driveshaft and put a teflon grease inside the front shaft yoke, it should go away for awhile. it is normal. on the new ones anyways. same as the f*ckin intermediate steering shafts. worked at a gm dealer before ford. seen lots of shaft snap noises. it...- dee123

talked to some jeep guys who used dom 16 and por 15 and they're weren't happy with the price or product. two of the guys are very thorough on everything and followed the instructions perfectly. mentioned peeling as a concern. tremclad is more cost effective and easy to touch up if/when needed... -

and with the tremclad, you don't need primer. can still use it but not required -

tremclad. one heavy coat and one light coat. pretty happy with it. knocked off scaling rust and lightly wire wheeled the frame. i found if the metal is perfectly clean, the paint didn't adhere as well. -

thanks. the white cab is from calgary. besides needing rockers there is no major rust on it. black truck body was completely rotten. will get more pics through winter as i work on cab and non a/c conversion. -

if you look at LMC, the trim piece looks the same minus the rounded piece. vent flap is same. if i emailed you pics, could you post them? -

as far as a heater core, i need to find out if a/c one is a heavier duty unit. might keep that. heater hose holes might be different through the firewall. -

passenger side pull vent. not on driver side, i don't think. vent door and trim piece are the same. just need rod and knob to convert to manual. and the circular shield comes off too. -

found a non a/c blower housing, heater box, control unit and under dash wiring harness for $50. let you know how it goes. won't start till after next weekend. -

by the way, i mentioned on another thread that i work for a FORD dealer. we have a windstar recall involving reinforcement brackets and adhesive on the front subframe. the adhesive works really well as an alternative to welding for small repairs. i fixed a hole in my floor with it and once dried... -

thats what i figured. i'll weld a panel over the a/c hole. just wanted to make sure heater boxes are different. -

I can see that the blower housings are different between a/c and non a/c. Are the heater boxes the same? if not, it could still be used, right? -

Cab swap
i know the bolts are 1/2", but does anyone know how long the cab bolts are? mine all broke and the old cab is scrapped already.- dee123
