Fuel guage bounces?
Know the gauges bounce somewhat from open design of the tank. This gauge bounces rapidly from full to empty when driving with 1/2 tank. It is NOT normal. No way GM would have sold a new vehicle like that. Not opposed to replacing the gauge if that will fix it. Just asking if there is another...- fast 99

To bleed or not to bleed, that is the question.
Most likely reason for no bench bleed is possible damage to internal seals if bottomed out. Have seen that happen. The felt if that's what it is possibly dust filter of some sort. -
Edelbrock Carbureators,and Chinese Distribuors etc.etc.
One reason I don't suggest tossing rebuildable/repairable parts. Another is unknown quality.- fast 99

Radiator condenser combo.
Did you try Rock Auto? Just looked they have a large selection. Most replacements today are aluminum. Bought one for an 85. Fit was very good.- fast 99

Clicking steering wheel steering shaft
Sometimes the horn contacts under the lock plate will make noise. A little silicone grease will eliminate it.- fast 99

Verify defect fuel sending unit
The hoses are a PITA. Either unbolt bed as described above or back 4 cab bolts and block it up. I tried unbolting beds on a couple, but the carriage bolts just spun. Was less work to jack the cab up.- fast 99

A little more information would help. Juice brakes on 2+ tons can be very time consuming and expensive to fix right. Shutting off first thing to check is spark. There are many issues that can cause it, but number 1 is module second would be a coil or pickup. If a moule is replaced use enclosed dielectric on base. Door Seal to big
How squeezed is the weatherstrip on the hinge side? Had the same issue, due to manufacturing tolerances [or lack thereof] one of mine was very tight and hard to close. It's been a year now with the door shut most of the time. It has finally come out of it. -
Cross pin bolt snapped
Get a GOOD new left-hand drill bit or 2. If you're lucky drill will stick and back the piece out. That worked many times for me on exhaust manifold bolts.- fast 99

79 k20 400 running rough, can't figure it out.
Check fuel pressure and volume first. Most of what you describe could be caused by a fuel related issue. No reason to go any further until that is eliminated. Numbers are for a Q-jet. Has the filter been checked or replaced? It's behind the inlet fitting on the carb.- fast 99

Check fuel pressure and volume even if a new pump was installed. Rough at low speeds, runs good on reasonably level ground, be more specific. Prime when cold, what brand of carb? Is choke operational?- fast 99

Header Gaskets
When I was a crewmember on a race team we used a thin bead of high temp silicone on both sides of gasket. Applied sealant then waited 10-15 minutes to solidify a little bit. Never had a leak issue. These were high dollar headers with a thick flange. Your millage may vairy. Have headers on one...- fast 99

Turn Signal Issues
First, check for power in the sockets for inop lights. These old trucks do not play well with LED. Might be a power supply problem or a clean enough connection to power up a computer circuit ie LED. Edelbrock 660 electric choke
That style choke needs power and ground period. If adjusted properly for cold start will have too much choke when warm and Visa Versa. You need to do some diagnosing as I suggested previously. Should be an index mark on the stat, start there after confirming it works.- fast 99

Engine lift points
Sometimes people overthink it. Have removed FE Fords, small / big blocks GM, 6.5 diesels with an adapter to Boss 429's with the carb plate. Just did the 429 last week. Never had a problem. Only engine I didn't use a plate on was a 534 Ford. Just be sure the bolts or studs are full depth and tight.- fast 99

Best to use 2 chains diagonal crossing each other. Can usually get engines out with one but installation no. What happens when the engine is slid back on the chain to keep it nose high it will be tilted sideways one way or the other. Have use 2 chains many times on fuel injected engines where...- fast 99

Best media for blasting the body
If available slurry blasting is preferred. Water keeps metal cool. Some media will not remove rust if that is an issue.- fast 99

Engine lift points
2nd picture is a factory lift bracket. Never used them. Usually used an intake carb plate. If your buying one get a plate with 5 lift holes not 3 if you can find it. The 3 hole plate balances the engine but usually having engine front higher is better. I use the second hole on a 5 hole plate.- fast 99
