    I was surprised too. But that was taken 30 seconds after I filled it up and it has a forty gallon tank. At roughly 7 pounds per gallon. That’s 280 pounds extra back there. Even empty, that’s closer than I expected.

    Some had asked for specifics on the weight and the ratings. Had it weighed today. First the front axle is rated for 5500 pounds. The front leaf springs for 2600 a piece. Total weight: 6620 lbs Front axle weight: 3380 lbs Rear axle weight: 3240 lbs

    I’m pretty sure it was intact when the new steering box was put on. I’ve only been driving it a month, but anything is possible. Louisiana roads are not gentle. When I have the shaft change done, I’ll have it checked for sure.
