    Modern Bucket Seat Swap

I swapped my stock bench seat for 81 - 91 Suburban buckets, the type in the photo below (not my truck). They are very comfortable, and IMHO look right in the truck vs. a more modern seat. Lots of people have documented this swap, but I did some additional modifications to the seat rails to move...

    Anyone prefer the mini starters?

Definitely. I went with the Powermaster 9526 mini for my hard-starting 454 with full length headers.

    Longbed Inspiration needed

My long bed is a 2wd 3/4-ton. The previous owner stuffed 325-70-17 (roughly the same as 35-12.5/17) Toyo Open Country tires on Weld Wheels under it, using a 2" lift block in the rear, along with leaf springs and front coils sourced from donor trucks of unknown origin. It looked weird to me at...

    Mounting to interior sheet metal

This one works really well in areas that don't give you room to swing the handles of the manually operated tool. I've used it at least 10 times on my truck for 1/4-20 nutserts/rivnuts (same thing) in various locations: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JBO58FM

MagnaFlow vs Flowmaster vs Straight Pipes

It all depends on what model of Flowmasters. The Super 10s, 40 series, and Super 44s have the classic loud Flowmaster sound and are known for the drone. But if you get into the Super 50s, 60, and 70 series, they are relatively quiet and drone-free.

    Good Front suspension kit

Yes, Federal Mogul is the parent co. of Moog. They also own Anco (wiper blades), Champion (spark plugs, etc.), Wagner (brakes, etc.), Fel-Pro (gaskets), and a couple of other well-known parts brands.

    What is this stuff called?

Thanks, but it is a semi-rigid plastic piece. An exact replacement of the type on my '73 doesn't appear to be available, but the style used on many other GMs of the same era will work and is less than $10. Here's an example: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/amd-w-160/overview/

    What is this stuff called?

Nope, that's not what it's called. Just found out the official name is "wiring harness gutter"

    What is this stuff called?

I've looked for it under those names, but no luck. Yes - I am looking for a replacement part but haven't been able to find it. Got a source?

    What is this stuff called?

What is the correct name for the plastic raceway or wiring channel that runs across the top of firewall between the brake booster over to the passenger side (green arrow in photo below)? It's like a trough or tray, not generic split loom. Are new replacements available? I looked at LMC Truck...

    ID of this electrical component?

Looks like we have a winner. Just did a search and found a previous thread. Thanks for the tip! http://www.gmsquarebody.com/threads/th400-kickdown-switch-information.7242/

    ID of this electrical component?

I'm in the process of repairing some bogus and burnt wiring under and behind the dash of a new-to-me 1973 C20, and found something that is unfamiliar to me. It's a spring loaded switch mounted on the bracket immediately above the gas pedal (see green arrow in photo). It's a two pin switch fed by...
