Brake booster on my 86 K30

The plot thickens... I bought this truck through a guys Dad who was handling it. His son was deployed. He called it a K30. I just checked the sticker in the glove box. Picture below. After some googling, I think I have a K20, and not a K30. C6P code though... I looked up the K20 brake booster...

Brake booster on my 86 K30

90% sure my vacuum booster is bad. Wooshing noise inside the cab, very hard to push the brake pedal. Truck originally had a 350, has a 454 in it no (bought it this way). I'm trying to find the correct brake booster. A lot of the ones I've found say on rock auto, do not have the bracket on the...

    Kingpin bushings

Back from a week of vacation. Swapped my front tires Sunday and it still pulls to the right.

    AC help

This was a Nevada truck, and the 454 was swapped in so theres a good chance all of the components could be from a pre 85 to make it all work.

Great info, and exactly what I was thinking. Thank you. Is there a "better" compressor than the A-6 I have on there? Is the shorter compressor (the R-4?) any better or offer any benefits other than size? Also, If I were to change it out, then it is going to alter the alignment of my belts...

    LED lighting

Just thought I'd offer up this info for anyone in the future. I have an 87 K30 (V30). I just replaced all my lights with LED replacements. Most notable are the cargo light and reverse lights, huge improvement. I used superbrightleds.com The way their website is laid out REALLY makes it easy to...

    AC help

Thats a bummer. Thanks for the info though. I'll start hunting around for someone to repair it. Maybe I'll get lucky. Correct me if I'm wrong, but as long as the length is there, all the fittings should be the same size, its just the shape that might be different? In theory, I could get a...

    AC help

In the first picture, the top line coming from the compressor, once the hard line meets the "soft" line over the compressor, right there. If you look closely you can just notice where it leaked onto the top of the compressor, in between the green wire and the line on top.

    AC help

Excellent info. Thank you. I'm sure it had R12 originally, has the sticker, but wasn't sure if it was converted or not. Is there a reason i should go to R134, or try and stick with R12? @Snoots the Sanden compressor, that is compatible with R12 and R134 (maybe all of them are, I don't know if...

    AC help

I have an 87 V30. originally a 350 but now a 454. While working on it, I leaned across the engine bay, and subsequently put a crack in one of my AC lines. Now of course I have no refrigerant left and no AC. I'm trying to look for new lines, but can't quite find what I think looks like an exact...

I haven't. I'll do that before anything else. Good call.

    Kingpin bushings

Replaced the bushing and used the solid urethane replacement. Still pulls to the right slightly. Still feels like there is some small amount of play with the right front wheel. I wonder if the wheel bearing may be bad? I also think that since it was identified my camber/caster is slightly off on...

    Kingpin bushings

The steering wheel is just BARELY off. The guy who did my alignment did mention that the caster (I think) on the right side was slightly off. Through my research on here, I've read that a bad kingpin can cause this. Also, having the lift spring and ORD shackles I have could also cause it, and I...

    Kingpin bushings

I THINK what you're referring to is the setup that replaces the factory cap, with a cap that has a bolt going through the top to adjust the amount of pressure being applied. The system I'm looking at removes the spring and replaces it with a eurethane unit, but keeps the factory cap. In theory...
