New to square bodies '81 SM465 question
Same as above posters - 1984 C20 w/350 here and from 3rd down to 2nd for me is about 10 to 15 MPH maximum but I do NOT need to be at a complete stop to get it in to 2nd.- Slugnutty

Wiper arm removal… Don’t laugh!
Just pulled off the arms on my 84 C-20 and I needed to MAKE SURE they came off straight, just as soon as I twisted, pushed, pulled the arm it bound those tiny fine "teeth" and did not budge. Straight out off the stub they clip to and had very little problem - same for getting them back on... -

Nahhh it's all good. That we can yak at each other is cool - thanks for the input though, never know when someone will need the info and because you took the time to add it - the search engines will pick it up. Thanks. My switch is in the transmission housing it self - underneath the vehicle facing from the center line out towards the passenger side. When my floor mounted shift lever is in reverse it pushes against a plunger which activated a ball detent switch that moves a metallic ball inward...- Slugnutty

How hard was it? I've poked around looking for a replacement sw, but my Red Green goober fix is working, but replacing it correctly on the heap may be in the cards for 2018- Slugnutty

My 84 has the SM 4 speed trans, and there is a plunger which slides horizontally when the shift lever is in reverse.. The switch is so old and there is SO MUCH gunk in there that I need to wait a full 5 min for the plunger to slide sideways to make the connection to turn the lights on...- Slugnutty
