SUPER help full thank you! Next time I have the valve body off I’ll defiantly be taking a look at those posts

    700r4 weak 2nd gear shift

The kit had me plug a hole near the 2nd gear servo, and I’m going to play with the shins this weekend. The kit only says to use the washers to adjust. What’s this hole I can drill out? Even though it’s a daily I don’t mind harsh shifts, just makes all my drives more enjoyable

    700r4 weak 2nd gear shift

Dexron, just genaric Autozone stp brand, I may pull the pan and check the side to side band clearance, but before that I’ll remove one small shim because I have a bad feeling I went overkill and set it too tight. Is there something I can check in the valve body if I drop it?

    700r4 weak 2nd gear shift

It was rebuilt to a stock referbished condition the first time before the shift kit andmy rebuild. I’d heard that b and m wasn’t too good on quality so I went transgo, and was fairly pleased before my own rebuild

    700r4 weak 2nd gear shift

So I recently rebuilt my trans, an 89 700r4 with a transgo shift kit, corvette servo, 13 cane pump, boost valve, and a transgo 3-4 spring upgrade kit. Once it was topped off with fluid I took it for a test drive and while I do have all gears, and they do appear to be holding solid, 2nd gear...

    700r4 rebuild time, advice?

Fuzzy dice projects has an amazing video series for a 4l60e, and it’s very close to the 700r4, it’s about all I used. Aslong as you know your way through the valve body you should be fine just using that @SDJunkMan

    700r4 rebuild time, advice?

She’s all done. Honestly way easier than I expected. Biggest thing: find a lip wizard and some thick plastic paper from hobby lobby, the thickest you can get for those seals I did go and use some 4l60e pistons with molded seals, and I liked the quality of those way better than the other lip...

    700r4 rebuild time, advice?

Got it pulled just now, the slot for the pump seems to be equal to the gap that was between the motor and trans, so I feel good saying that the pump disengaged, thankfully nothing seems shredded, just a little chewed up on the snout of the converter

    700r4 rebuild time, advice?

I’ve heard the same about monster, I love their video series, but I’m not convinced on their product. And as far as the other one goes I think I’m going to hold off on a converter until the motor gets it’s final cam so I can match them, but I appreciate it!

    700r4 rebuild time, advice?

I’ll have the transmission on my right and my laptop on my left haha, my biggest concern is finding a good rebuild kit. Has anyone had good experience with a kit under 200 and can recommend a company?

    700r4 rebuild time, advice?

I’ve gone the shop route before and doing it myself I’ll cut the cost in half, it’s a skill I’ve always wanted and I don’t have the money for a shop right now anyways so I’m just taking this as an opportunity, fingers crossed I have the same luck as you

    700r4 rebuild time, advice?

was driving home from work yesterday and started hearing a nasty rattle. Looked under the car and saw that my trans had unbolted itself from the motor... I got really lucky on this one, see pic. I got some hardware, bolted it together, and started on my way, but after that it started slipping...

    Best r4 compressor brand?

I have a shop lined up to do the job for 70, and I’d rather have the simplicity of a shop for something like that, I have the accumulator and May flush it before install, and I’ll give that orifice tube a shot

    Best r4 compressor brand?

Okay so I’ve looked and looked for a ford blue tube but can’t find a part number anywhere, any leads?

    Best r4 compressor brand?

I just went and picked that exact one up at Autozone myself, fingers crossed it works out, thanks! I wasn’t able to find that part number prior
