87 700r4 lock up issues
I went through this nonsense with a stock 700R4 in my military K30 that the previous owner swapped into it. The 6.2 quickly ate that transmission alive. Well crap
As long as you took your time and methodically put it together I wouldn't worry about it. I've heard some horror stories about well known engine rebuilders on Jegs and Summit. Personally I would go with a Chevy performance engine above all .- 84 M1008

I'd go for it if the crank looks good. Definitely use assembly lube and not just engine oil when you replace the bearings. That damage could have been caused by a dry start, improperly installing the bearings, or failure to torque the caps properly.- 84 M1008

88 suburban nasty fuel tank
I would just get a new tank and straps if you need them, otherwise dump a box of Calgon dishwasher detergent in it and let it work for a day or two. Calgon is the recommended detergent to flush the cooling system on 2 stroke Detroit Diesels. It will more than likely clean up your gas tank.- 84 M1008

Gas truck to diesel
You will need to plumb up fuel lines, get a spin on fuel filter housing and change the radiator to a 3 core diesel type from that era. The 6.2 will have a vacuum pump, you will need to connect the vacuum line from it to your transmission modulator valve assuming it's a TH400. It's pretty simple...- 84 M1008

Unless that is a built to the hilt, I would strongly suggest against running the **** out of it. Those transmissions in stock form didn't take likely to being beaten.- 84 M1008

That engine really isn't worth putting money into. Does it have excessive blow by? I would question the claimed milage also.
