Greetings. I finally had a reason to swap the 700 into my 455 olds powered 81 GMC. I built the 350c not long after I did the 455 swap, I finally killed it. I built the 700 a few years ago in anticipation of this day.
The trans supposedly came from a 91 caprice 9C1 cop car. It definitely is a high performance trans, it has the oil baffle on the planetary gearset. I built it with the typical upgrades.
My issue: the TV cable is too long. I have the cable adjustment maxed out, the cable is loose. When wide open, I still have /2-3/4 inch of slop.
Im wondering, we’re the 91 cars TBI? And if so, are the tv cables different?? This one does appear longer than what I recall seeing.
For those in readerland who have done 700 steps, what tv cable did you use?
I used a throttle cable bracket from a g body car equipped with an overdrive trans. I transferred the throttle arm from a CCC Q-Jet onto my earlier Q-Jet carb. Basically, I have duplicated the factory tv cable system.
