i need help. I have replaced my wiper motor and the wiper switch on the steering column and my wipers are not working. I have power at the switch and at that motor but still nothing happens. Also when I turn the wiper switch to low or high the dash lights come on. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Send us a picture of your motor and switch please. Do you have an electric diagram?

Here’s the motor. I have already installed the switch.

Currently I do not have the motor plugged in and I noticed when I turn the switch on, the lights do not come on. But as soon as I plug the motor in the dash light come on when in turn the wiper switch to low or high.

There wasn’t one on the old motor I took off. Where would it mount to the motor?

Keep in mind that the WSW motor always has power on both the HI & LO speed windings. It is only when a path to ground is created (through the switch) that the wipers can operate. The ground leg from the control switch is ultimately connected to the common ground buss block - located above the e-brake actuator. Check that connection.

The motor casing is also grounded as shown below:

The motor needs mounted to the cab so the case is grounded, then all should be well and work properly......

Got it figured out. The ground wire in the harness was not grounded. Repaired that and all works well.

Sorry. Nope.

The rubber isolation grommets are there for a reason. That's why there is a separate ground strap or wire to the motor from a chassis ground.
