So I got some nice silicone wipers to put on my truck.. only to realize I dont have the right adapter and it won't fit. Does anyone know where to get new arms with a newer style or an adapter piece?

Those are called bayonet style, Rainx Latitude blades from OReilly will fit. I just put some on my 84 K.

I don't want those blades, I just need to convert. But knowing the style helps maybe an adapter will work?

If you find adapters post them up here, it seems like the blades that fit the bayonet arms are getting harder to find.

Here are some adapters I've found that work with the bayonet style of blades just match them up with what the blade needs. I have no idea how well they work, but it's not a very complicated piece.

Personally I use Bosch regular cheap blades which work fine. I did try the beam style before and they dont seem to work well for our flatter windshields imho.

I had the Michelin's on mine too, the old style wiper arms are terrible. Then I switched the 85 and up style and they're just as good as the new wiper arms, only thing you'll have to consider is if you want your washer nozzles in the cowl or on the wiper arms.

Does 85 and up use the hook style or the post style? Does it use the washer on the arm?

I want an adapter because my PIAA silicone wiper blades(best blades Ive ever used), dont support it. Apparently the beam style do. But I bought the old style. I just need it to clear snow, but the cheap ones I had on are junk even when new.

The 85 and up arms have the washer nozzles mounted on the arm.

They are the post style.

The bayonet style arms worked fine for a long time. But modern wiper blades are ridiculously flimsy and cheaply made. Just another case where the good folks with older equipment get focked by the aftermarket suppliers. I'll stop there before it turns into a big long rant, lol.

I was told in another forum that an awesome upgrade is wiper arms off of a 2001 Jeep xj will fit my 84 Chevy k10. I have yet to try it, but they would have the better style arms.

Aren't the adapters in the box with the wiper arms? There is always a pile of crap in there when I buy them

The last several sets of blades I've bought have come with a very universal type attachment that fits the post, bayonet and J-hook styles, like an all-in-one type deal. They usually don't fit the bayonet style very snug at all.

I had last replaced the wipers on my crew cab 10 years ago or so, and I guess I never paid attention to how they were mounted. They came with trick little adapters that turns the bayonet style into the still-very-common J-hook style. They are still in fantastic condition, not loose or brittle. You could consider them a permanent adapter I'd say.

They are the first style in that link that @Dutch Rutter had posted. With some searching, it turns out they are available from Summit Racing too, which would be very convenient for those of us that shop there often.
