Anybody using 16X8 steel wheels with 4.25 back space on their 3/4 ton 2WD without problems?

Those should fit without any issue, as long as you don't go with a giant tire. You can even go wider, like 16x10. But that's not really needed because today's common tire sizes smaller than 33" don't need a rim that wide.

Here's one of my old trucks circa 1992. These were 33x12.50x16.5's on 9.75" wheels (4.75" BS). I only had to trim the leading edges on the front fenders.

That looks really nice. Debating between the 7 or 8" wide. Just don't think the 7" wide with 4.00 backspace would look wide enough. Grass Valley--ever watch Brad Sweet run the Outlaw.

7" is really no different than stock width. I'd at least get 8's.

I was running 16.5 x 9.75's too, I like the look. No trimming needed here due to the shorter tire than Craig's. It's an extinct size though.

I agree. If auto trans help is needed I would be glad to help. Had a trans shop 30+ years.

Not me but my brother's truck has 16x8 helo wheels. He is running 265/75 tires and no issues whatsoever according to him.
