Why are brake hard lines coiled?

I need to replace my hardline brake lines coming out of my master cylinder because they look like trash. All twisted up and ugly. Thinking about going the 4LifetimeLines route, but curious why the lines are coiled when they come out of the cylinder?

As I was taught, to help eliminate vibration and cracking/failing due to work hardening.

All of the above, but also to allow for vehicle assembly.

The brake system is assembled, evacuated and filled on the chassis line. An inspection before body drop ensures that the complete brake system is functioning.

The brake master cylinder is "slaved", or fixtured, in space. After the body is dropped the master cylinder is attached to the booster and/or front of dash, the slave is removed and recycled back to the chassis line.

The coils allow some "give" to make this installation.

I hadn't considered assembly line requirements before, but that makes a lot of sense.

I know the coils help if some eejit strips the threads or rounds off the corners on the fitting nut. You can cut the end off, replace the fitting nut and there's enough tube if you just tighten the coils a bit to flare the end again. So it helps with service as well.
