Bought some adhesive backed sound mats, and ordered a new MIP floor mat from LMC (comes with 3/8" insulation attached)

I need to run some wires under the floor mat to the back of the cab (security/sound/etc.)..

Should I rout them under the adhesive backed sound mats or between the mats and the new floor mat?

Seems like they would be more stable/protected under the sound mat, but if I ever had to gain access to them, it would be a royal PITA? Or does the adhesive backed sound mats pull up easily?

What is common practice? and why is one way better than the other?

Thanks,
Mark

I saw once a guy cut channels maybe about 1/4" wide into his thick sound mat and placed the wires in the grooves. Looked pretty awesome actually.

I ran my speaker and dome light wires under the door sill plates.

Factory location for wiring is usually under the door sill plates, although I have seen a few run along the transmission tunnel if there is a console. You do not want to have wiring in an area that will be stepped on unless it has good protection from physical damage.
