I am new to the whole lowering a truck deal.

I have a 81 c10 with a 4'' rear drop and 2-3'' front drop. Looking to run 17x8's and switching over to a fleetside bed.

I am wanting to know what backspacing will keep me inside the fenders and not rub while turning.

Also, what size tires are you running? 275/60/17's?

Thanks for your time,
Mike

Stock 15x8 rallys had 4" BS and the only time I've heard of tires rubbing on factory wheels was on a truck with 6" of drop up front, they fit the wheel well nice too. If it were me I would run a 275/50R17 which is about the equivalent to a 275/60R15 (28"tall), thats what I'm going to run on my truck with a 3/4 drop when its done.

This is a truck Truckin' built with that tire size and more drop:
