I still have some sockets left from a S&K tool set my Dad bought me in 1962.

Some of the first Snap On sockets ever made in 1927.

Some WW2 Craftsman.

An Indestro socket set from the 30s.

I collect vintage hand tools, primarily wrenches, sockets and ratchets. Particularly any that say made in Ohio like Mac made in Sabina, Ohio; Wright made in Barberton, Ohio and others. I also collect Plomb, Wright and Par-X.

I guess I stated it wrong. And I love vintage tools.

What's the tool that you have owned the longest?

I probably still have some of the original Craftsman tool set I got in the early 70's, and I bought my top box in 1976.

Not an actual tool but mine is a Black & Workmate bench, my mother bought it for me when I was 10ish in the late 70's.

My oldest hand tool would probably be a Mac ratchet and socket set from the late 80's. Once I started buying Snap On and Mac I weeded out most of my old Craftsmen/ non brand stuff.

Back in the mid 70s I got a Craftsmen socket kit in a blow molded case. It's a big kit, and I've still got it today. Not long after that I bought a set of Standard Craftsmen wrenches. I've still got most of them. Lost the 9/16 and 3/4 ones long ago.

I would be hard pressed to know which tool I have personally owned the longest because I have always been surrounded by tools. And I've inherited a ton of ancient stuff from everywhere. Including an S-K socket set that has the full name on it.

There's a trivia question for you.

I have my Dad's creeper that he used in the 60's and 70's when he was a Mopar mechanic. Made of wood, still usable!

I recently bought some drafting tools, made of brass, that are from the '20s.
But... I have only owned these vintage tools for abut a year.

I have a 6" Craftsman channel locks I kinda borrowed from my dad back in the late 60s.
My current belt mounted folding knife is a Tree Brand Solingen I've had since '79 or 80.

I have a ShopVac from 1981... still works and works really good, but it's tear your face off loud. Can suck a cat through a keyhole.

I remember Bob Lilly doing the commercial for those.

Some Proto tools mom gave me on my 16th in '86. Ratchet and sockets, screwdrivers, wrenches. The oldest tool I own is a Thor electric impact.
