Hey all,
Just bought a 86 and the ride needs much improvement. It looks to be lowered a little just don't know what the ratio was for it (around 10" clearance from ground to body). Anyway, what is a good drop kit that would keep the same height for my truck that will improve the ride?

Thanks for any help

Hi Ben,
A pic or two might give us a little better perspective of what kind of drop your looking at and help the guy's give a little more targeted advise.

So is the current ride quality a complaint, or you just want to know how to make it a little lower and still have it ride good?

You know it realy doesnt look lowered at all, at the most maybe 2in in the rear with a leaf removed or a 2in drop shackle.

A drop kit by nature would not keep the same ride height but it sounds like you want it 2in lower front and rear. You can get a 2in drop shackle(if you dont have one already) and cut one round off of the front coil spings.

The ride quality is my complaint. I bounce everywhere on the freeway. It looks to have new shocks thought. I will take a pic of the spring and rear leafs today.

Thanks for the replies!
