I have a 1986 C10 square body short bed. I just installed an e-rod LS3 upgrading and l65 e-trans, upgrading the original single leg 10 bolt 308 gear ratio to posi I'm considering this a weak Link in the drivetrain and would like to swap out to a more heavy-duty rear end. I'm looking for help to identify what vehicle rear end would fit best that has posi I would not be opposed to converting to disc brakes as well during this swap?

Upgrading the axles to chromoly would probably be fine. Unless you intend on launching with great traction.

Seriously, there's nothing wrong with an 8.5" 10-bolt unless you're running slicks. As mentioned above, I think axles are the weak link. If you rebuild it, go with name brand gears and bearings.
