I only tacked onto the conversation because it was brought up.

I Dont think that at all, infact, if you remember that thread from a while back I was one of the people who were pro-fluid brake controller

I think they are cool and when I get my square better fixed, im hoping the one in my cab is still functional, id love to use it.

the master cylinder not having a provision probably means its not meant to support an auxillary use like a trailer brake controller anyway

@tophat36 Don't throw that brass adapter away. It fits many different years of GM vehicles. No longer available for the older GM vehicles. Sell it! I'll buy it.

How full should the master cylinder be? I noticed the front chamber was lower than the rear one, but I don’t know what is too low.

I usually kept levels about 1/4" to 3/8" below opening (rear walls) with M/C gasket pushed back up if "popped".

The master cylinder I just bought has a small dot or divot cast into each reservoir, instructions indicated this was the full mark. If no dot @Sad Sack recommendation seems about right

When you find master cylinder reservoirs that aren't full,the biggest concern should not be how full should it be. The biggest concern should be,why isn't it full? Seeping wheel cylinders, pads ,shoes almost to metal,master leaking into booster etc. My first concern would be inspecting to find out if the low master is an indicator of another problem. The fluid doesn't just evaporate,and no one comes and steals it.

Yes, GM used a non standard nut on the brake line to master cylinder. Larger than a regular 3/8 tube nut.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and suggest she found it low because she just removed the brake line and fitting
