I am looking for a complete weatherstrip set (doors, windows, hood, etc) for the 77 K10. Brothers sells a set. Steele only sells them individually, ends up being pretty expensive.

Are the weatherstrips like sheet metal in that they are all made by the same manufacturer and are just repackaged? Have you seen differences in quality, fit, etc? Preferences?

It's my understanding that there's several different manufacturers of weatherstripping and the quality varies greatly. I don't know which brands are better for the money, or if "you get what you pay for" is a blanket statement that fits here.

But people often complain about the rubber products from LMC, saying that they don't fit well and they deteriorate extremely fast. Years of going to swap meets and big car shows, I've been to some of the vendor booths for some of the higher end companies. That stuff always looks and feels like an excellent product.

I bought a complete cab set off eBay. I think it was from one industries or something? They have YouTube videos on how to install it.

I would have to look up who it was again. The stuff for pretty good I thought. The vent windows are a pain in the but. I put some minor tears in them that won't matter on the vent window gasket cause I was inpatient and trying to force it and use a tool when I shouldn't. But everyone says vent windows are a pain. There is a learning curve with them.

I will note that the cab to door gasket was too big , I had to trim a few inches off each one, but that's now big deal.

The kit I bought didn't have the gasket for on top of the doors. One that goes to the door. I bought those from the same company separate. They don't have the molded ends that attach with a screw like the factory ones. But I used weather strip adhesive and glued it. One I actually put 90 degrees from right and also put glue on both sides which the old one was only one side. Oh well it seals. And is what it is. If I need to buy more I will. There only like $20.

I recently completely changed all my weatherstripping with PRECISION brand from Classic Truck Parts. It was significantly cheaper than LMC and the quality was excellent.

They also have how-to videos on YouTube which were very helpful on how to install the different pieces.

I’ve also used PRECISION Brand for a couple of my builds, Excellent quality, good fit. I did buy most pieces individually, I don’t know if anyone sells a complete kit.

That sounds familiar, maybe that's who I used.

I’ve discovered “OC Auto Carpets” has the best prices for these items

Precision here as well, no complaints.
Soft seal is another company I've heard of but have not tried.

AM autoparts has free shipping. Ordered K5 weather stripping and it was precision.

Here is my confusion. I looked it up. I bought from AM autoparts off eBay. It was free shipping. The vent window gasket set was precession. They were about $32.

The door gasket. Ones that go on the upper half of doors (I have heard not all trucks have these) were $22. I believe they were precession as well. They were pictures as the original off eBay but came as a generic glue in type. The profile was identical to the original though.

I'm still trying to figure out where I got the cab pack. Going to go look at the box and see if I can tell

I know this is an older thread, but just wanted to thank you all for the info. Made choosing the weatherstrip kit for my C25 a lot simpler. One thing that I wanted to add is that it is worth shopping around using the Precision part number.

When I placed my order, this was the spread I found:

Direct from Precision - CWK 1111 78 - Weatherstrip Kit - $547.58
From OC - Part # CWK 1111 78 - $383.31
From Summit - PQP-CWK-1111-78 - $241.99

Summit shipped next day, and I should have it for the weekend.
