Hey guys looking for a 700r trans for the 65, not really concerned with condition cause I have a friends who will rebuild it. Although a working one would be nice. Get at me if you know someone. I can't seem to find any on craigslist

Me too, but shipping might kill it. I had it rebuilt with a TCI kit (~$200) and a TCI converter (~$350), drove it a few thousand miles but my Camaro still managed to break something in it. It suddenly started slipping in forward gears, but reverse is fine. I dunno what broke. I would want to get $200 out of it, but as was said, shipping probably ruins it.

I'd be looking for an 88-92 year model 700r4/4L60 trans 1low. 87 isn't so bad either, but the 88 up are better. 86 and down are just missing alot of the major updates.

Thanks for the advice. I'm learning that you usually knowwhat youre talking about.

I called all the trans shops in town and no one has one. Cept a guywith a rebuilt one for $1,080.

THinking bout finding truck or burb from those years you listed for cheap and pulling what I need off.

I bet your buddy wants a biggo piece of change for it. I'm going to assume you mean it has a Corvette Servo. All it does it firn up the 1-2 shift. Also difference in Vetter Servos whether they are good quality of low quality. Althogh even the low quality Vette Servo's do firm up the 1-2 shift. And if has extra clutches it probably just has the Raysbestsot Z pack in the 3-4 clutch pack.

Hey hotrod...dont forget all that stuff I still have for my 4l60e I was going to build....all listed in the other tread about camming the low4x4...since the 700r is just a non electronic version of the 4l60e, wouldnt all that stuff go in? Maybe even the all billet triple disk 3800stall lol

I'd have to look at the stuff agian, but you're right. Alot of it will go for sure. And all the more reason you'll need an 88-92 Cores. I am failrly certain the converter will work too. Only differance there is how the lock up is actiaved, but it locks up the same way so it shold work. Clutch packs shold work. Anything valve body related wil not work. Shift kits are different for example because of the seperator plate is different.

Oh, and your hardened output shaft will work. Dohhh, Oh wait a minute, you're building a 2wd for the 65 now, not a 4x4, so the shaft lengths are different. Although whoever you bought it from might let you exchange that.
