I would like to replace my alternator, powersteering, and water pump belts on my truck. They are old.... really old... and Im confident my power steering belt looses tension with warm up. Its time.

Any good brands? P/Ns? Style? in terms of straight or ribbed.

I prefer Gates, but I've used Dayco without issue. Gates green belts are supposed to be extra-heavy duty. I used one of those for the weird flat serpentine-style belt my truck used for the alternator/air pump. I just pulled the air pump and found a shorter belt. I've probably had it 6 years without any issues.

I do really feel the quality of gates hoses were worth the value on the rad hoses. I also have had extreme luck with a gates belt on my lawn mower.

I like gates but will often times run whatever is the cheapest.

If we're talking timing belt though I go for OE or gates. No China cheapo there

Gates at home and at the shop. Seems like gates are a little more forgiving and stretch less. Dayco is ok. An example I can give is my old Cadillac. It's a hearse and is rarely drivin, when it needed belts I put on the cheapest thing I could find which was masterpro. Seemed like I had to adjust them every other time I drove the thing and after about year I was out of adjustment and replaced them all again, this time with gates. Still going strong years later. To be honest I think that a vehicle that doesn't get used all that much is harder on it's belts, but I'm getting off topic. Gates belts are my #1, and also for anyone that doesn't know NAPA brand belts are made by Gates, as well.

Napa sure charges premium pricing on their belts... 28 bucks for water pump belt on a 77 LTD.

Gates, rock auto will likely be the best price.

Yep you usually can buy the belt and pay shipping to your house cheaper than walking in anywhere. Often times cheaper than a cheapo belt at advanced with a 20% off coupon.

If you buy rock rock don't forget to Google for a 5% discount code if you can't find the one they sent you by email in the last few weeks.

Yes NAPA at least in my area is over priced on almost everything, and these days O'reillys and Autozone have really stepped up their game. Sure you can still get cheap crap at O'rielly's and Autozone, but O'reilly's carries gates belts, wix filters and host of other great brands.

Gates, rock auto will likely be the best price.

I agree, but if ordering from Rock Auto be sure you know your getting the correct belts / parts or you'll be paying to return the shipping or stuck with stuff you can't use.
