I just got in my rebuilt Quadrajet this week from national carbs. Thanks to the member who posted the link. I don't remember their name. I noticed that one of the hose seems twisted. I don't think it's twisted to where it is ineffective but I was wondering if I should try and reroute it or not worry about it?

I kind of moved it around as much as I could and it didn't seem to be pinched to where it was closed off. Idk if it's me just being worried for nothing or maybe a problem. Some opinions would be appreciated. Thanks

Can't believe they'd send something out like that.

I don't think it would be a problem. But for me, I'd try to either a) turn the can or, b) install a new hose.

Kinda what I was thinking.

Looks like it might fit better if the hose had about 1/4 inch taken off of it?

Why would you even bother posting something like this? Ummm, maybe just replace the 50 cent hose? If it looks tweaked, why not put a new one on???

I got my hose twisted like that once. I suggest you try it and see how it works for you. Who knows, you may enjoy it?

Usually works best if they twist it while lightly flicking the end.

It could be cut to fit, but I don't think I'd do that....

I agree. The twisting is just the setup for actual work to be done. As I recall the twist did NOT affect the performance at all but perhaps enhanced it, sort of like the Venturi effect. A turbo boost of sorts.

Cutting is bad and I would recommend against it.

I would think anything more than say 45° is apt to be less effective.

Well, yes, of course you're right on point with that. I can't say that I've even come close to the 45 degree mark but I have to think that's way too much.
