Hi everyone! Texas native, recently relocated to NC. I have a 1986 GMC Sierra C1500. Trying to get an idea of what the value looks like to seasoned squarebody owners. I’ve owned it for 2-3 years. It needs a little TLC and I’m not able to do the manual labor that it’s so deserving of! I am considering selling it. Thanks

That's a nice looking truck!
I can't imagine why you'd want to sell it.
I'd say about $5K.
Slap me.

And welcome to GMSB.

I've got a lot of family in the Raleigh area. I may be able to drop by and take a closer look at it someday.

Thank you! I agree! But I’m a single mom. No garage. No time to work on it & quite honestly afraid to fully rely on YouTube tutorials to walk me thru it! Also new to NC & don’t know any mechanic around here that I can trust! Sounds terrible, but I don’t have thousands of dollars to shell out for the labor. I know the parts are inexpensive. I know the work is way easier than it is nowadays, too. It’s not an easy decision.

Howdy!

I recommend you keep it :D
I’d love to, but it needs some TLC & I’m not sure I’m the woman for the job! [emoji23][emoji2370] plus I don’t have the time and money to put into it. Very very sad to admit!

Thank you! & that’d be awesome if that worked out one day! I crank it at least every other day and let it run for 15 minutes or so... I try to drive it a few 10-20 miles at least once a week just to give it some run time. This cold weather really makes it hate me. [emoji28]

At least you can tell us what you believe it needs.

We can help so that it won't cost the thousands of dollars you think it will if you give us a chance.

Hmm. Cold natured is it? Is there a white sticker under the hood at the front. Not on the hood but near the latch where the hood would mash your finger.

Take a picture of that and if you can go underneath and take a pic of the transmission pan.

Yes. So, I have a list going. [emoji28] that sounds bad. But....

I think the weather stripping needs replaced. Somethings going on with the electrical junk on the windows. Passenger came down earlier this year and was stuck down. Got a shop to get it back up & left it there but cracked about an inch for air. It won’t roll down just makes a ticking sound. Definitely seems like wiring problems. Driver side tries to roll down but at a sloths pace. A small patch of rust on the driver side door rocker? Maybe... door pins need replaced on driver side. Bought one, need a second one I think. I need to clean the carpets pretty good, stained when I got them-haven’t attempted to steam clean yet. Too much slack in seat belt-maybe both. Right gas tank doesn’t work-so I was told when I bought it-I’ve never used it.

Not sure! I will try to check tomorrow - if I can get home when there’s daylight.
