Well, I go to the Orthopedic specialist tomorrow to see if I'll ever be able to use my arms again. And if I can't then there won't be any reason to keep my truck anymore because I won't be able to work on it. I'll be looking for some foreign mini-truck with an automatic transmission in it so I won't be shifting gears to get down the road.
I don't know how I got this way but I'm disabled anyway and have been since I came back from Vietnam but didn't know it and worked my butt off until I couldn't anymore back in '92. That's when the doctors started finding all this damage I had and the more they looked the more they found. Then I was determined to be disabled and unable to work anymore. But now it's really gotten bad and I can't do much of anything even the little I was still able to do I can't do that anymore. Maybe the doctors will be able to fix me and that will be good. But then again they may only be able to do so much and I won't be able to do any work on the truck like I once did even as of three or four months ago.
So we'll see what the prognosis is and I'll get back to you all. Otherwise the truck will be for sale in whole or whatever you want in pieces. I figure I want $2850 for it as is. The engine is good, but the trans probably needs to be overhauled. Also, the front end needs to be overhauled but I already have a complete Energy Suspension polyurethane bushing kit for it. You all have seen my engine and the transmission cross member I put in and all the driveshaft universal joints and the slip joint upgrades I've done, plus all the new radiator and cooling upgrades I've done to it, that's all good. The truck has a ton of new parts on it but people don't usually want a long bed as a hot rod truck. Most want a short bed fleet side which mine is not. I'm willing to do whatever you think is fair.
I don' know what a truck like mine is worth especially with all that's been done to it, and all that it needs especially body work. But I'll work out any arrangements you want to do to get it to you. I'm sure not trying to make any money on it I just want it to go to a good home so somebody else can enjoy it.

:cheers:Well ****.....I’m sorry to hear that.
Hope it all goes as good as possible and you can keep wrenchin on the square!

But if not, you DO want to make money on it. Well it for as much as you can possibly get for it. Look at it as a source of income. As hard as I imagine it will be to get rid of it, you’ll be better off if you maximize its value.
What it’s worth? Idk either, but remember you can never negotiate the selling price up when the buyer is there.
Look at similar trucks on Craigslist or Facebook and decide where yours fits based on its condition. Then price accordingly.
Here’s to not having to sell it though!

So sorry to hear of your medical condition. Are you using VA facilities or civilian? I am also a DV, and have had great results with the doctors at UT South Western University/hospitals here in the DFW area. I would be happy to help you get enrolled into their system by contacting my doctor to smooth the process. Also, if you are having mobility problems, or lack of a good family support system, drive to Shreveport, pick you up and bring you back to your home after the appointment(s).

Please let me know if I can help you in any way. Anything for a fellow DV!

^ My hats off to you sir.
I hope Mr RaiderL takes you up on your offer of help or at least makes contact with you.
Have been helping my in laws with health problems and recently realized how hard it is for some folks to navigate the healthcare system.

Welcome home from one DV to another. May not have been fun but we can hold our heads high. All gave some, some gave all.
