So I got to buy a new adapter someone drilled through mine. Wasn't leaking at time of purchase now I find one of the bolt are striped out. So now I got to retap or resleeve.the transmission.does anyone know the right size exact bolts for the mounts the they drove the threads through?

I believe the mount bolt is 1/2-13 and the case bolt is 5/16-12. I'm reaching into the gray matter on this. Use a good solid heli-coil if you can. Check out Grainger.com.

Threw bolting is ok. I’m thinking 3/8-16 for the bolt in the trans.

Yeah I just never trusted a heli-coil. But what do I got to lose.

Depends on the year of the truck. At some point the bolts switched to metric, which is probably why yours is jacked up. In order to fix that leak do not use silicone on the transmission side. Use the transfer case adapter gaskets. On the trans side is a big flat o-ring. Just lube it with a little ATF. There is some pressure buildup in there that will blow silicone out.

Also, If its a through bolt, I would use a Time-sert instead of a Heli-coil. The time sert usees a lip on the thread bore to allow the insert to stop and it has a slight taper to lock it in place. A helicoil could thread out from one side if it loosens up any.

Through bolt is OK. It just seems weird that it wasn't supposed to go all the way through.
For the adapter to the cross member not the transmission to adapter. The link I posted above has locking steel inserts

Yeah it's the top bolt that's stripped the threads out. The one n the picture is the bottom bolt. It's 1of 4 bolts and it one of the top ones.

Is your transmission a 700r4 or th350? Also what year is your truck. At a certain point the bolts changed

I never had a 400 so I wasn't sure but I was thinking it had a different adapter.
The transfer case side looks the same. They are a bit shorter lengthwise and have 6 holes on the trans side. And are fricken expensive lol
