Hello folks,
I am looking to replace my regular steering column on my 84 C10 with a new tilt column.
Can anyone recommend a good vendor?
Thanks!

I got one from Steering Columns Galore. I had a tilt column to begin with, but I wanted a completely rebuilt unit. One nice aspect of that company is that they send you a prepaid label to return your core, and don’t charge you a core fee up front. If you don’t return your core within 30 days of receipt of your new one, they’ll charge your credit card for the core.

I don’t know what the cost is to exchange a fixed for a tilt, but I suspect it’s reasonable.

Where are you located? I just replaced the column i my 87 and would be willing to give you my old one to send in for rebuild. It had an issue with the high beam switch and the tilt was a little loose for my liking. I am in Missouri but would be willing to send it to them for rebuild if you want to pay the shipping. It is complete minus steering wheel

Wayne at GM Tilt. http://gmtiltsteeringcolumn.com/

Fair price, very good quality, and great support. I've had one in my 82 for 3 years now. It replaced a worn out 3-on-the-tree column.

He was out when I was looking for one. He may be able to rebuild the one I have though if the op would like me to ship it to him

I contacted him for tilt column for my truck and he quoted 375.00 + 50.00 shipping. Thought that was a little high for rebuilt. IMO.

Their parts prices are just as bad.

What kind of prices have you found on professionally rebuilt tilt columns? When I was shopping, I saw even worn-out looking used columns for $200 or more. Wayne charged me around $375 shipped, but that was 3-1/2 years ago. Can't believe how just about everything is 10%-15% more expensive than in 2015.
