So, if you remember my intro thread, I recently bought a 78 K10. There's clearly a learning curve to a 40 year old truck. I bought some bully step hoops to put on the truck so I didn't have to keep pulling myself into the truck with the steering wheel. I crawl under the truck with my drill and my pencil, only to realize that the attachment point has long since rusted out! Has anyone ran into this and found a simple solution?

There are quite a few rusty areas that need to be replaced eventually, but I can't afford to do them all right now, and at the moment, everything on the truck is the same color, so I'm trying to keep it that way for a little while. Suggestions welcome....
