    Hi, dumb question but I was going to buy a factory style steering column unit to replace my original. They say they take old cores, but mine is pretty parted on the outside but insides are 110,000 miles and nothing wrong with them. Would they still take it? If so I think I’d get a discount but I forgot. It’s off my 1981 Silverado half ton.

    I think you'd have to ask them. Everybody is different.

    @Steve-o81,

    What's wrong with the one that's in your truck now? Any pics? What is it you want to do with the old one, the new one?

    @Steve-o81,

    What are you working on? Tilt or standard column? Automatic or floor shift? Three on the tree? Three speed or four speed? What year? Give us some idea and the flood gates will open!
