My speedo doesn’t work. If I unscrew the cable from the t case, I can spin it and the speedo needle moves. So I assume it’s not the cable or the speedometer itself. Could it be the thing the cable screws into? If so, where can I get a replacement? What else can I do to troubleshoot?
I have the np205 case and th350 3 speed.

Pull the speedo gear housing. Either the driven gear is stripped, or the drive gear on the output shaft is damaged or the clip that retains it on the output shaft has come off

Therr are different housings for different tooth counts. Assuming you have the large round housing and not the small bullet shaped housing, and this isn’t a new development, it’s posdible you have a gear that’s smaller than the housing calls for. As the tooth count changes, the gear gets bigger/smaller. That changes the distance between gear centerlines, the proper housing restores that distance. Pull the gear, count the teeth, and see if it is the right housing for the tooth count.

The only other possibility I can think of is the end of the speedo driven gear is stripped, and won’t turn the speedo cable. If you spin the driveshaft can you see the driven gear turn?

Good time for a failed speedo thread - mine has been intermittently working. Seems to be a possible electrical issue as it will work for a while and then stop. Also noted that when its working its reading slow by around 10km/h (5mph) compared to a GPS.

The problem in my truck is the gear on the output shaft inside of the transfer case.

I wrote an email to [email protected] and dropped your name @Kim Burke + plugged the website = he gave his number - wants me to call.

Will advise.
