Mine fell apart and I have found a few places that can custom make one for you, but where have others got this part before? How model specific are they. I imagine you need to have the same either trans or transfer case?

This thing screwed into my T case and then the speedometer cable into that . It increases the RPMs of the cable, I took it off and then put the cable directly into my t case. Now the speedometer says 45 and I really am going about 60mph.

Was this an original equipment option or something used to correct the odometer after the addition of larger tires? I am running 33s.

It I believe had an AC Delco number in it. I forgot about it over a year ago. I need to pull it out of my toolbox and post a few pictures of it.

It's an OEM part. Mine broke in half also. Luckily I have an aftermarket electronic speedometer that I adjusted to cover the discrepancy.

What ratio do you need? I have a box of them I have removed from transmission cores over the years.

If by ratio you mean gear ratio , got one for a 3.42 rear gear ?

Mine seems like it is a bit wobbly.

Thanks for checking!

Ok, I had no idea how they were designed or calibrated.

My truck still I believe has the factory gears it came with Wich are either 3.07 or 3.08 what ever Chevy used in 1980. I would have to go look at the sticker in the glove box to confirm.

If you look on the end it will have numbers stamped in it. For example: 1.08, that means the speedo cable is 8% Overdriven
Another example, .998 that means the speedo cable is under driven Compared to the output shaft of the trans.

Is there some place you can look up what ratio you need? My CUCV speedometer isn't very accurate (seems to read high) and I'm wondering if it may have the wrong adapter on it.

Not sure where you mean by end - I did find these - did not even know these were there ...

Here's some real useful information that is probably posted somewhere on this forum, https://garbee.net/~cabell/stewartwarner.htm

Stewart Warner still makes them and they are available at Summit Racing. "Spendy" though, you just have to know what ratio you need.

Weird - hoagster's quote did not take.

Thanks. I have to try and find where I put the thing now. I think it's in the top of my toolbox....along with a billon other things!
