Have this one. From a 78 Blazer, mated to a 350 auto. What do I have, and how can I mate it to this manual trans, from a 78 C 30?
Thanks

You have a NP203 Tfer. Input shaft spline count is different from auto and manual trans. Trans is from 2wd. Not sure u can adapt it to 4wd tfer. Would recommend finding a complete set up together. Trying to get correct adapter can be tough and expensive too.

I believe that is an NP203 too. You're gonna have to give the shifter a darn good cleaning.

Somewhere on here is posted an article on rebuilding and aligning the NP203 shifter.

Other than a very uncommon adapter and input shaft, there's no good way to mate a 203 to an SM465 without custom modifications.

If the goal is simply to have 4 wheel drive in a 70's rig along with a manual, it will be easiest to just locate a 465/205 combo from another 70's truck.

Looking like the best way yes sir.
So, is the case of a 2wd 465 and 4wd 465 different? From what I read in the Transfer case thread here, the difference in 203's 205's etc, were the input shafts?? Depending on the trans they were mated with??

Again Thanks!! I'm just wanting to learn and that happens regularly here!!

The trans case is the same, but the output shaft was different for 4 wheel drive. It was a 10 spline output for all '73-'80 trucks and '81-'84 K30's too. The 10 spline 203 was only made in '74 I believe. All other years, the 203 came behind an auto only, and were made with 27 and 32 spline inputs.

I gotcha now! Person would have to change the output shaft in the trans, and the input shaft of the TC. Yes sir, I'm offically hunting a paired up unit now????

It's easiest I think. If you find an output shaft for a 465, chances are it will be in a good transmission too. The adapter for a 465/203 is very uncommon, along with a 10 spline input for the 203. I actually have those, but I'm not sure if I'm going to use them, and you would still need to deal with the trans. The 205 is a better case anyway.
