Well i heard of this swap but what mods do i need to do because i don't think it would be just a trans swap and be done.

I have a 14 bolt FF rear it is 2wd. 1975 c30 w/dual rear tires

2 piece drive shaft it has carrier bearing and splined coupling that moves in and out with alamite fitting.

my truck has a mechanical clutch set up not sure how it would respond to the nv4500.

i don't know how many splines there is on a sm465 input shaft and i don't know what splines the nv4500 has

i don't know if i would have to swap a clutch for a different one for it to work.

don't know if the nv4500 would bolt to the old bellhousing.

There was a guy here selling a 3/4 ton blown diesel motor 94 model with an NV4500 for $600. The $600 alone would have made the NV4500 swap cheap, then sell the other parts like the 14b FF rear axle, body parts etc, and you'd damn near have a FREE NV4500 swap. IF I had the $600 in cash I"da bought just to part and sell. Normally the NV4500 is gonna cost $600-$1000 just for the trans. Then the bell housing and other stuff you need for the swap. It is true, the NV4500 WILL NOT bolt to the SM465 bell housing. Being your truck is 2wd, it's not a hard swap though. The 4x4 swap gets expensive with adapters and driveshaft mods.

So maybe it is a C&C then. The VIN # would tell you for sure.

It's a 14bolt rear, so that automatically means it's a cab&chassis model.

My vin number is CCY335B164766

C Chevy

C 2wd

Y 454

3 1 Ton

3 Cab & Chassis

5 Model Year 75

B Assembly Plant Baltimore, MD
The rest are sequence #'s which means you had the 64,766th one made that year. Usually start at 100000 so it it were 264766, then you'd had the 164766th one made.

Then the Vin letter for 3rd digit should be an L, for CCL... L designates 350 4bbl. I guess it's possible could have been 2 Y's. The Y I am seeing says 454 4bbl (P Series) an your truck is a C series, so it's possible my chart is not showing all the letters and there might be 2 different 350 models.
