I had replaced my 6 inch lift with a new skyjacker 6 inch full spring lift. Now that that’s done my rear shock on the driver side hits the axle to we’re I can’t get the bolt in. Is this a common problem. I’m guessing I’ll have to cut off the shock mounts and get new ones and weld them on in a different position to where it doesn’t hit the axle??

Check with the seller about your shocks, some can be mounted upside down putting the shaft end at the axle.

Yea I thought about putting them upside down but really don’t want to. It’s just weird this truck idea fighting me on everything and everything I get from summit is usually wrong. No matter what I tell them. I’ll try to get pictures. But i bolted the shock at the top on the passenger rear and got to the bottom and the tube of the shock hits the axle housing. But I’ll try to get pics.

How’s the pinion angle? Might need a shim to get the angles correct.
Might roll the axle mount enough to give you the shock body clearance

I would just weld on new tabs. That’s what I had to do when I swapped my rear in. It was a 2wd rear so the shocks mounted lower.

Where’s a good place to get the new shock tabs.

Had the same issue on my K30. I called Tuff Country (my brand) and they said I could reverse them even though they are label for one direction.

Back in the early 90's I had a K5 with a 6" Sky Jacker lift. Didn't run into any issues, but I had done a 3/4 ton axle swap.
