Does anyone have any experience shipping body panels from the other side of the country? I am in MA and have located a set of rust free doors in Utah. The price is right but I am curious what freight shipping would be for 2 doors. If I got the doors for $125 and paid shipping costs I am wondering if I would be ahead of the game

Measure up a door and plug it into UPS' calculator, I don't have a door here at the moment or I'd do it.
Kind of curious myself.

The cost to ship large panels has went up drastically in the last decade or so. I once shipped a T/A hood out west for less than 200 bucks. A few years later I priced something similar for a potential buyer and it would have cost double that. It's likey even more expensive now.

Ok, I plugged in some dimensions into the UPS calculator (42x50x8) and it would cost $230 to get it from Utah to NY. Thats a little bit to much for me.

One question I got to ask is, Do you know for sure they're OEM doors?

Wow! That’s more than I expected.... they are take offs that are rust free, but with shipping both doors I may be better off with re-production doors.

Fenders and doors are both 5x5' boxes. It's a step up from the 48"x48" (or whatever it is, standard). That's why it costs so much. I swear we could have our own square body shipping company if we worked together. Lol

I was thinking the same thing, but go bigger with other car boards as well.

You might check with Greyhound Bus. I've shipped large items with them lots cheaper.

Fastenal offers LTL service. You need to have the seller put in on a pallet and deliver to the closest Fastenal, then you pick up at your closest Fastenal. I got a tiller shipped to me for pretty cheap, forgot how much I paid but I was happy and it was much cheaper than driving my ass over to pick it up.

Also X2 on the greyhound. I've heard good things from them but never used it. Part of me thinks truck doors may be too big to take that ride but its worth looking into if you really want those doors. New England isnt easy on vehicles man.
