So a question to all you s10 owners out there... my 91 has a 2 driveshaft setup with a carrier bearing in the center and carrier is toast. My question is can i dump the whole setup and put 1 solid DS in instead? Is there a solid DS for a regular cab, long bed s10? Thanks

Not an S10 owner, but I would just replace it all with new and be done with it.

Carrier is only like $6 but i really hate extra moving parts and places to break. Rather have a solid DS.

I'm looking for the total length of the shafts combined. I have a very straight cab and front clip, originally white, but painted silver now. We have been using some pieces of the cab for Kooper's truck but putting all the old parts back in it to save for the next guy. We are using the frame to mock up the SBC we are gonna put in Kooper's s10. I'd make you a heckuva deal on the whole thing,...can you say "Road Trip"??!!!.....for the shaft, @Buckets Chevelle wagon may have a long enough shaft??...Maybe?

No way three u-joints and a center bearing are going to cost 1k. Did I miss something?

Ok so now im confused because it showed this same part for 2wd for like $900! Now i go back and theres only a few part choices and the only one that looks like mine is listed as 4wd?! This one. Also listed as ext cab short box. Wtf

Wow that is pricey! Are u-joints and center bearing considered non-replaceable on those?

I can honestly say that the u joints are factory because they still have the (poly ?) Sealer thing in the cups that you hafta melt out to pound the cups out to replace with new u joints. Its all still attatched but the big rubber in the carrier it floppin up n down as i drive causin one FOOK of a noise and vibration! Hence why id rather a 1 pice shaft!

I get it, but those engineers knew something we don't. I forget the cutoff point before a driveshaft is too long. It's not like you have to replace this stuff yearly.
