I half assed slapped this on last night. I got to get this stuff done, my inspection is up the end of Feb. I can always take it off and re-do it later. That's why I like using those screws, in case I want to take it off and do more work.

Anyway, I slapped the rocker panel on the Burb last night. The driver's side both doors. Panel I got is a one piece from LMC Truck to cover the rocker panels from the front fender to the back fender. It has two top panels the tie into the door weather strip lip and cover part of the door jamb. It is a fairly heavy guage of metal for the price. Paid $30, very fair price.

Here is some pics of the new rocker panel:

Had to remove the sill plates and weather stripping from the lower door jamb. The metal wher the floor pan met the door jamb looked terrific, not one spot of rust. Here is the rear door area....

Knocked th loose rust out and sprayed rust converter and rust primer on the rest.

(Yes, in the second pic that is the bracket under there for the running boards. I just swung it out of the way instead of climbing under and unbolting it.:baby:)

So starting with the front door, and making sure the end of the rockers are lined up at the right spot where it meets the fenders, I use a few pairs of vise-grips to pull the panel snug into the door jam and try and keep the screws where they will be hidden under the weather stripping.

Just starting at the front edge, pinching with vise-grips and slowly working my way back.....
