I was looking to move my 85 into the garage to do some work and have found that my rear passenger wheel is locked. Any suggestions ? Old fluid ? The rear brakes went wasn’t locked are tight and almost lock the rears when pressed going down the road.

Would prefer the Macintosh toffee the relatives used to bring when they would visit from Canada. They would bring us Canadian candy, we would bring them to Disneyland. Happy times.

Post is a little jumbled up. Did this just start locking up? Collapsing hose maybe. Probably not fluid. Sometimes crud in the wheel cylinder on the opposite side can cause l the pressure to go to the opposite side and cause it to lock up. Drum can be way to tight on the side locking up. Only thing to do is Jack it up put on stands and look at each wheel and try to figure it out.

Sounds like what happens when an axle seal decides to ooze its goo out onto your brake shoes and drum.

Was the parking brake on? Mine has a sticky cable that will make one side hang up. I can free it by wiggling the cable, but I'm just lucky for now. I really need to replace them.

I cleaned most of the junk but with the drum off had the axle moving but with drum on it gets stuck and won’t turn.

They got that "star adjuster" thing on the bottom part of the brakes there and it controls how far the shoes are spread apart see?

Spin that adjuster with a flathead maybe and close em together some and then see if it'll spin?

You gotta work the adjuster.
Work it.

Gosh!

I’ve never worked on drum brakes so this is all new. When I put the drum on it barely fit back on so I’ll research this adjuster.
