Restoring an 89 R3500 crew dually. Frame off restoration that my son is doing and I am having a difficult time sourcing some rear suspension parts. This truck is a mixture of years from the factory, mostly 87 components. Anyway I am trying to find rear sway bar end links. I have tried LMC, Brothers and a few suspension houses and no luck. Originals broke so can't use them. Any suggestions or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Moog seems to possibly have them however since the truck is disassembled i cant get the mounting pount distance measurement. Never assume you can just get new parts. Lol

Saw many of these kits so to speak. Problem is the don't include the end links, only the bushings.
The one moog has is too short I think.
Use a grade 8 bolt. Energy suspension sells different length end links but I don't remember how I got to the page with them. When I lowered my truck my end links had to be substantially shorter.

It’s just a bushing over the bolt.

Think that is what I am going to have to do. Then just find the appropriate sleeve to go in the middle. It looks like the mounts are about 6 1/4" apart but not being installed its hard to measure.

You can mock it up and cut the sleeve accordingly. I have no idea what the stock length is but I just cut the sleeve down and used a shorter bolt.

I also see you get to enjoy some of that fine Michigan patina on everything. How was the body, rust-wise?

I have owned this truck for about 11 years. Driven it in winters and all that. The frame has only surface rust from the cab back. Cab has very minor rocker rust and one cad corner. Fenders all is just surface. It looks like it was factory undercoated.

Not bad really. Most of frame has been cleaned and sealed.

Looks like it should be easy fixes. Nice looking frame.
