Relibile dimmer switch manufactuer

I am in need of a dimmer switch. I would like one that would last longer than 1 year.

This is what keeps happening to mine:
You must be registered for see images attach

(Left: unknown manufacturer Right: Duralast)

I need one that will not do this. the left one caused me to lose my bright lights while the duralast caused me to lose all headlights.

Install headlight relay harness and that will keep the dimmer switch happy. Sorry no info on good manufacter for the switch.

Install headlight relay harness and that will keep the dimmer switch happy. Sorry no info on good manufacter for the switch.

There isnt anything wrong with the headlight wiring harness....

Relay harness moves current draw from headlight switch to the relays. This puts less load on the dimmer switch making it last longer.

Schamatic or some tutorial for making this?

I getting awful tired of having to replace the dimmer switch.

Is this a different relay mod than the one for sending higher current from the battery to the lights without sending the current through the light and dimmer switches and harness?

It is the same one that is sold by lmc as headlight relay harness.

You may have to modify the LMC harness, but it's not that difficult. The end results are worth the upgrade. I had dim lights and other headlight issues. Installed the relay harness and my headlights are very bright now, and it's nice knowing there is minimal draw through the headlight and dimmer switches.

Tried to upload photos but I can't get them.

Depending on your current headlight setup, the relay harness you need will vary.
For instance, like the round eyes are combined H/L beams, the harness is very simple. If you have the split H/L headlights, then the harness is a little more complicated only in the fact that you'll have more connections due to having more headlights.

There isnt anything wrong with the headlight wiring harness....

The factory 35/55 Watt lamps run 110W through the dimmer on high and 70W on low with dual lamps or 220W on high and 70W on low with quad lamps... This doesn't include the 5-15W per bulb for the parking/running lamps that is routed through the dash switch along with the headlamps. 370W without any extra marker lights running through the dash switch... And folks wonder why they get HOT.
Typical Bosch type ISO relays only use 3-5 watts to energize the coil. This offllads more than half of the wattage from the headlamp switch and 95% of the wattage from the dimmer.
I use relays with "snubber" or "flyback" diodes to keep the inductive backlash spikes from the relay coil out of the ECM. Older trucks that don't have ESC, EFI, or 4M4E carbs won't need them.

You can also convert to the older style floor dimmer, very easy swap. Some folks such as myself prefer a floor dimmer switch anyway.
