I bought this brand new Quadrajet level 2 about a year ago. Now that I've put a BBC in i don't need it and I'm gonna sell it. Thought I'd put here first before I list it in Facebook market place. I'd rather someone here get it that needs a good reliable carb. You can literally install it and fire it right up. National carb sells them for $270 then you add tax core charge a and shipping it comes out to about $334.00 or something like that. I'll take $200 and you pay shipping of like 20 bucks or so.

I give it a week or so and if no takers I'll post it up on Facebook where it will go fast.

Can you provide the numbers off the side? It a similar model to the one I am using, so it might be useful to have a spare.

So are you going to put it on the big block? I’ve had my eye in it, and been trying to scrounge cash(that means figure out how to ask my wife to let me spend more $ on my truck:D). I think i might have her about to think its her idea:cool:, er, i mean, maybe i found the cash;). Just wondering if its still on the market? Thanks.

I'm kinda debating on slapping it on the BBC and see if I like it or not. I've had some guys on here recommend that I do use it on the BBC. The shop that put it in for me suggested that I put a bigger carb on it than the Edelbrock carb that's on it.

But, I will let you know when I decide. I'm sorry. If you'd of asked me a month ago I'd of shipped it right to ya. Now I'm just not sure. Lol

Guys here got me thinking about it o_O

Lol. Yeah, i saw that. Thats what spurred me on to talk to my wife about it. Ive been eyeing it since you posted but i just got done spending a bunch on my truck and i was stalling to recover from that. Just let me know what you decide, when you decide. Either way, no worries. Thanks.

Looks like you could sell me this carb, sell the eddy, buy a new national q-jet set up for the big block and maybe be about even.:D Just sayin’. Thats what i’d do.

if not, really no problem tho. Ill run what i got a little longer and save for a new one from national. $300 after core return aint bad.

Not a bad idea! I'll think about that for sure. Thanks, didn't even think about that. Lol

For your application I would take a close look at the Edelbrock AVS2 #1913, which is rated for 800 CFM. Its relatively inexpensive (about $420), and has gotten very good reviews on most sites.

Metering rods and jets are maybe $20 including the shipping costs. About an hour to take off the top, check/adjust float and other settings, and you're golden.

Talked to national carburetor today. I told him what I had on the motor with intake, hedders and RV cam. Then told him the carb i had and he said it should be plenty for it. I'm not racing it so...

I asked if the base of the BBC is the same as the SBC carbs and he said yes but, might need an adapter plate(which I have) to get it to fit.

They're on sale for $199 + 50 core charge and 29 shipping @K201979. That's about the same as sending your old one to be rebuilt. I'm a witness to when you get it it's just like new and ready to go.

He said, if when I test it, if it seems lean they'll send me bigger jets for $20. So I'm gonna try it out and see what happens. The Edelbrock on there is pretty worn out.

So it looks like a test and comparison will be in the future.

That sale price sounds great! Thanks for the info. I will probably go that route. Do you know how long the sale will run?
