G'mornin folks!

Does this look right to y'all? It seems like that vacuum operated solenoid isn't connected to anything. New to QJets, so please bear with me. :)

I guess you're referring to the hot air choke that's been converted to electric?

I have fewer hoses, but mine looks about the same after the electric choke conversion. I completely removed the hot air choke pieces and used a block off plate on the intake.
My carburetor is off of an '85 one ton pickup.

There is a link between the choke pull off and the secondary air door that’s missing. The purpose of the link is to prevent the air door from just flopping open at WOT, causing the “Quadra-bog”.

The choke pull off is designed to open the choke a specific amount on cold start, before the choke heater fully opens the choke. Once the choke is fully open, the pull off stays in the retracted position. When you go to wot, the choke pull off is designed to slowly release (due to loss of engine vacuum) and allow the secondary air door to open in a controlled amount of time.

I looked a little closer at your carb, the secondary air door has no window for the choke pull off link. It doesn’t appear to have been cutoff or removed, maybe your particular module didn’t use that linkage. Rochester made lots of different part number carbs, apparently not all used the same parts.

Even though Matt's first statement wasn't applicable to this carb. It's still overlooked by many who don't understand the choke pull offs function.

Was searching for something else and ran across my own dang post. Gotta get better at watching my own threads! lol

It seems strange that carb would have a choke pull off vacuum, but no way to attach the linkage. If that's the only thing the vacuum diaphragm does, should I just leave it? Honestly, I wouldn't mind removing it just for cosmetic purposes.
