Yep, more carburetor stuff. My stock 305, 700R4 VECI label specifies timing at 4 degrees btdc.If all of the emission system components have been removed, is this timing still correct? The last time I checked, the timeing was 9 btdc @ 700 rpm and the truck seems to run well. It idles a little rough and is probably a little on the rich side. I plan to tweak the fuel-air screws to max vacuum at the pcv port.

i would say u need to bump the timing up to atleast 8 to 10 btc and make sure u do it with vac adv unhooked

It depends. You want 34-36BTDC all in at WOT. Depending on whether you are on ported or manifold vacuum, how much vacuum advance you have, and how much mechanical advance you have, that will determine what you set initial at.

The dist. vac line connects to the base of the carb beneath the fuel inlet and next to the pcv port. Vacuum at that port is 0 at idle. At about 3000 rpm, it measures 10" hg.
