I just purchased front and rear doors from a 87 suburban for my 83 crew cab . They cut the power window and lock wires at the hinges . Now I need the harness under the dash to complete the install . Any leads for a harness would be appreciated. Thx

Used is the best source. But just a warning, carefully removing the donor harness is tedious, frustrating and rather time consuming. I just recently removed one for another member here.

Fun fact: There is a dash/interior harness and a harness for each door. So the doors can literally be unplugged from the harness without any hacking.

This is the RR door connector pictured. All four doors have a connector just inside of the pillars. The front ones are kind of a bitch to get the harness pulled through with the doors still on.

The front doors suck the worst I think. Just had to fix a mess on my 79.... I only pulled what I needed to, every single wire had cracked insulation. I'm sure glad I didn't have to pull the whole harness, it would suck to get those connectors through.

Damn, just an hour? That's fast. I spent probably an hour just getting the door harnesses out, and it certainly wasn't my first rodeo either, lol.

The power window and lock harness only has a couple grounds that plug into the ground bus above the park brake pedal, then a couple 12v feeds that plug right into the fuse box.

I like the idea of the simplicity of a crank window, but I’ve thought about these a time or two. Bad idea?

A little off subject from replacing the door wiring harness but is related to the harness. The electric windows on my 90 suburban were always very slow to move up/down. Even after replacing window motors they were sluggish and only got slower in time.
While looking for a part from LMC I found a video on a kit that fixes that issue and makes the door windows operate like late model cars. Kit consisted of heavy wire and relays that connect the battery direct to the window motors (front doors). The video and instructions are very explanatory and took about 4 hours for the upgrade. Well worth the time and effort!

Anyone got the power window schematic handy? Search isn't helping me too much and my haynes manual is pretty generic with it. '87 burb harness. Thanks Again Bucket
