Anyone have a good part number or description for this part? It is the nipple that threads into the power steering gearbox for the return line to attach to. I'm pretty sure my box is metric (correct me if I'm wrong).

Nothing really goes wrong with them, but you are missing the o-ring that goes on the flare.

There's an actual name for that specific flare fitting, but it escapes me at the moment :doh2:

The second picture is the remnants of the o-ring. I didn't think the metric fittings have a flare. I thought they were flat with the o-ring.

That mild flare is there mostly to keep the o-ring from falling off during the installation.

No idea. Bought it without an engine and just finishing up the swap.

Well, maybe so. It just looks really oil saturated and old and the rest is cruddy and rusty. I'd be surprised if it isn't making his steering less than optimum

Oh, I definitely poured about a quart of brake fluid all over everything. I did learn what a rag joint is so that's helpful.

it is a 16mm o-ring . you only need a o-ring.
