the cs500 overland is on its third year strong and I am proud to have been apart of it as a chase truck driver and mechanic for the last 2 years. this is a 4 day, 500 mile overland off road adventure for classic trucks of all makes. it is not a race, a win is to cross the finish line on the last day. this is not a "oh I got my tires dirty" on a fire road trip. its a cross state, 500+ miles, all off road on some of the toughest yet most rewarding trails AZ has to offer. my job is to chase these beauties around AZ and fix problems on the trail. most important is to get them to camp that night and back on the trail the next day. this trip was plagued with multiple mechanical problems from ps pump problems, to overheat problems, flat tires, drive line issues, fuel problems, ect.. but im proud to say out of 14 vehicles all 14 never missed a trail day and made it across the finish line on the last day. well... ok... 1 fj I towed across the finish line as it cracked its t case 40 miles from the finish. but that still counts.. lol. overall it was a great trip with great people, awesome rigs, and fantastic scenery.
