I've had one of those on a 69 C10 since around 1992. Still looks great and doesn't touch my legs like the huge OE wheel.

The aftermarket wheels are ok. But, I like the OEM styles a lot better. I just like OEM as much as possible.

Im the odd man here.... i think that wheel only looks good in the gmt400 generation it came in. I had a gmt400 burban and loved that wheel but id never put it in anything older.

They came in '89-'91 square bodies too.

No GMT400 had leather wheels-they were all that cheap crappy foam injection style. That wheel in the pic only came in upper LT trim level S-10 Blazers/GMC Sonomas from 1990-93

Right, but the point was simply that the wheel style is technically correct for squarebodies too because it was used in some of the very late ones.

Also, there's a couple variations of the foam ones too.

Edit

There's actually 4 different foam wheels that were used in the trucks and vans from '88-'94. They all look similar though.

All very true-however imo the leather ones feel FAR superior to the foam ones-they are incredibly hard to find but I seem to have good luck at swapmeets looking for them-most of the guys hoarding and selling all the steering wheels arent aware of exactly how popular that particular style of leather wheel is. You might find 1 nice leather one for every 50 foam wheels.

Oh I agree completely. I had been hanging onto a nice leather one for years but recently sold it so it would actually get used.

I also used to have a steering wheel from a '92 Sonoma GT. I believe it was the same basic wheel, but the entire thing was wrapped in leather and must have had some filler pieces in the center hub area to smooth it all out.

I sold my last MINT wheel for $300 and it sold in 10 minutes when I offered it on another forum...I hate giving up nice wheels but since I am pretty active in a lot of builders trucks supplying new harnesses, I don’t have a problem also supplying people with MINT or NOS parts too....

This was the last wheel I had...you’d have to find (and good luck trying!) an NOS one to find a better example!

Mine basically looked new still. I sold it for way less, lol.
