Hey y’all, I drive my square body at least once or twice a week. But I just picked up a 4x4 vehicle As my daily driver. Anybody live in the Charleston area know any decent places to do a little off-road Ing that aren’t too far from the city? Anyone else have a wrangler as a second truck here?

Old school. '91 Laredo. 2nd Owner. Had 88k when I bought it, now has 207k on the original engine, tranny and transfer case. I swapped out the 3.54 gears for 3.73's so I could run a little bigger tire and keep it at the same rpm's for highway driving, and installed an Old Man Emu suspension kit. Other than those two upgrades it's all original. I need to change the NSS, it won't start anymore and jiggling it back and forth in Park or Neutral doesn't work anymore. I don't want to clean the old one and put it back into service. I'll clean it up and keep it as a backup in case the new one craps out though.

I've heard about the 4.0's going many thousands of miles.

I bought a 97 Cherokee at an auction for $2600 back in 03 or 04? It had like 79k on the clock. 4dr, 5speed, 4L. (I was on a search for that specifically). The reason I got it so cheap was because someone else at the auction unhooked a bunch of sensors and tried to be shady to get it for cheap. I figured it out on the block, and apparently they only had $2500 max to spend. He was pretty pissed. [emoji16]
I drove the hell out of that Cherokee, and sold it with over 200k for exactly what I'd paid. I had zero problems with it.
Then i bought a 96 auto 2dr with 125k on it for $500. It had a seized alternator. I fixed it where it sat and drove it home. I put 50k on it and just sold it a few months ago to some kid for $500. He was thrilled. I bought this 1987 Silverado 4x4.
I did have to replace a radiator, heater valve, PS pump, wheel cylinders, water pump, fan clutch, coolant sensor, etc on the last one. Still worth it. They're tough old jeeps and quite capable.
